In this audio excerpt, Jim interviews John Harris of Chesapeake Light Craft about his new proa. John named his new boat “Madness” and explains why during his discussion with Jim.

John is an accomplished sailor, but in the complete audio he spends a lot of time talking about how much he has to learn about proa sailing in general because it’s so different from a traditional boat (in the West, that is).

Up to this point, John has learned a great deal from Jim’s son, Russell Brown. But he is sure to learn a lot more … since “Madness” was launched this past Spring.
